WEIMA Maschinenbau GmbH has extended the Vario Plus series of briquetting presses with the K 1000 and K 1500 models. Their newly developed claw technology enables wood, paper, plastic, metal or biomass to be processed into high-density rectangular briquettes. The rectangular briquette shape ensures optimum packing density during transport or storage. Good combustion behaviour of the high-density briquettes additionally opens up good marketing opportunities for the producer.
The new claw system of the briquetting presses can be precisely adapted to the material to be processed. So even materials that are difficult to briquette can be pressed into highly compact briquettes with large cross sections of 100šmmšxš60šmm or 150 mm x 60 mm.
On account of the high throughput rates of 200-400 kg/h and the excellent briquette quality, the machines lend themselves even to meeting highly industrial requirements. The modular design of the briquetting presses enables precise adjustment to individual conditions of available space and production facilities. Depending on the desired throughput, both briquetting presses are available in Duo, Trio or Quattro versions. Aside from increased throughput, such multi-press versions also ensure sufficient machine availability.
The containers for holding the material to be briquetted are equipped with an agitator and a geared motor. The output of the briquettes takes place via a screw channel with a discharge screw, which is driven by a separate geared motor.
The total weight of the briquetting presses amounts to 1,500-2,500 kg, depending on the version. The hydraulic motor is provided with drive power of 11kW, 15 kW or 22 kW. The standard container dimensions amount to 1,400 mm x 1,400 mm and 2,000 mm x 2,000 mm.
The individual equipment components - such as the press, hydraulic system, containers and accessories - are available separately and can be combined with each other. They can be integrated into existing installations. The presses and hydraulic system are then adapted to each other in terms of performance capability.
The briquetting presses are equipped with a powerful press mechanism with low‑wear chromed claws, as well as with a pre-compressor that is sealed against ingress of dust and a screw-on lid. A tempered press chamber bushing guarantees maximum wear protection.
A control box with a PLC control system, a separate oil tank with a pump motor and valve control, as well as a safety switch for the oil temperature, round off the equipment of the machinery.
