The 11th edition of INTERFORST, International Trade Fair for Forestry and Forest Technology with Scientific Conferences and Special Shows, will be held at the Munich Trade Fair Centre from 14 to 18 July 2010.
INTERFORST is one of the world's major trade fairs of the industry. The event takes place every four years and presents forward-looking technologies for the entire world of timber and forest. It is accompanied by top-class scientific congresses, conferences, special shows and forums. The trade-fair shows the full variety of the industry ranging from reforestation to timber harvesting and sawmills.
In 2006, more than 400 exhibitors from 15 countries presented the latest forestry machinery and services around the subject of forest and wood. In 2010, INTERFORST will again be accompanied by scientific conferences, special shows and forums which will turn the event into one of the leading key trade fairs worldwide for the international forestry industry. Some 50,000 visitors from all over the world are expected at INTERFORST 2010.
Covering a gross exhibition space of more than 60,000 square meters, INTERFORST 2010 will present the latest machinery, equipment and technical systems for the following areas in the halls B5 and B6 and on the open-air site of the Munich Trade Fair Centre.
Reforestation and planting, forest care and protection, cropping and harvesting as well as round timber storage. Other important topics are heating with wood, timber transportation vehicles, timber processing, woodland conservation and recreation area, tree and countryside care and land-use engineering.
Moreover, the range of products and services of INTERFORST 2010 covers the topics of data processing, measurement, management and telecommunications in the forest as well as safety and health at work, first aid, information, advice and services.
INTERFORST 2010 thus covers the entire forestry industry segment. The increasing demand for special software for the forestry industry is covered by leading suppliers of products for data processing. An additional attraction for all trade visitors will certainly be the second hand machinery market to be held for the second time on the occasion of INTERFORST 2010.
Target Groups The range of products and services offered by INTERFORST which takes place every four years is intended for forestry contractors, forest owners, forest administrations and forest services, forest businesses and forestry associations, agricultural businesses, timber transportation companies, traders of agricultural machines and devices, forest work science schools, universities and universities of applied sciences, trade associations and organizations from the forestry and timber industries, agricultural organizations as well as public services and institutions in Germany and abroad.
Accompanying Programme As at previous events, the range of products and services offered by the exhibitors at INTERFORST 2010 will be complemented by a comprehensive specialized accompanying programme. The INTERFORST Congress, to be held in the forum of hall B, will again be the centerpiece of the trade fair and will include two components: Scientific lectures of an international character are scheduled for the mornings, and forums mainly dealing with application-oriented issues and including a discussion between lecturers and trade visitors will be held in the afternoons. The INTERFORST Special Show in hall B offers practical demonstrations as well as explanations by specialists regarding all aspects of using forestry technology economically and in a, nature-friendly and safe way.
The special shows and forums are realized by Messe MØnchen in collaboration with the Deutsche Gesetzliche Unfallversicherung - DGUV (in English: German Statutory Accident Insurance), the Kuratorium fØr Waldarbeit und Forsttechnik - KWF - (in English: German Board of Trustees for Forestry Work and Technology) and the Spitzenverband der Landwirtschaftlichen Sozialversicherung - LSV - (in English: German Federal Association of Agricultural Social Insurance).
